    Joined Gávea in January 2004 as a Partner.  Amaury has been serving as Gávea’s CEO since October 2007.  Amaury also holds a seat on the firm’s investment committee and executive board.  As a member of Gavea Jus’ Investment Committee, Amaury provides a unique perspective on the risk return analysis, given his unique governmental background.  From late 2002 until early 2004, he was an Executive Director at the World Bank, IFC and MIGA. From April 1999 to November 2002, Amaury served as the Deputy Minister for Brazil´s Ministry of Finance. Previously, he occupied senior government positions in the Ministry of Finance (Secretary for Economic Policy in 1998-99) and Ministry of Planning (Chief-Economist in 1996-98). In the private sector, he served as the Chief-Economist for Citibank Brazil (from early 1994 to mid-1996); as a partner in local consultancy group Kandir & Associados (from late 1992 to late 1993); and as a Senior Economist for Brazilian companies Sadia and Copersucar. Amaury completed a PhD course in Economics from the University of São Paulo, where he also taught Economics (1985-86).
